Strickzubehör: Anleitung Wellhornschnecke – Turmschnecke – „Sea Snails“ Whelk and Turitella

Passend zum Namen „StrickStrand“ meines Ateliers gibt es hier die Anleitung für Turm- und Wellhornschnecken. Zunächst strickst Du die Schnecke, dann filzt Du sie in der Waschmaschine. Die Nautilus-Schnecke war der Gründungsanlass für das Atelier, im folgenden Sommer habe ich auf Amrum Muscheln und Schnecken gesammelt und habe in deren Farbe so lange Strickproben gemacht, bis ich eine Wellhornschnecke in Händen hielt.

Auch eine Herzmuschel habe ich mir ausgedacht, auf deren Anleitung für Euch müsst Ihr noch etwas warten.

Die Schnecken sind in drei Größen S [M, L] beschrieben:

S   Worsted 100% Merino mulesingfrei – 2 Farben (die Wolle recht für SEHR viele Schnecken)

M  Filzwolle verschiedener Hersteller – 2 Farben  (Ihr braucht ca 30g/10g pro Farbe, aus einem Knäuel pro Farbe bekommt Ihr also 2 Schnecken)

L   Bulky light print von Rosários4 (Ihr braucht ca. 54g/18g pro Farbe, aus einem Knäuel pro Farbe bekommt Ihr also auch viele Schnecken)

Was brauchst Du noch?

Nadeln! Du brauchst eine Rundnadel 4,5 [7, 10] und 3 Spielnadeln gleicher Stärke, eine dünnere Rundnadel für die Schneckenspirale, eine dickere Häkelnadel

Maschen aufhäkeln (als Anschlag)

Verkürzte Reihen

3-Nadel-Abketten (seit der geänderten Anleitung von 2022)

Von Euch gestrickte Schnecken durften bereits in die ganze Weit reisen im Rahmen meines Wettbewerbs „schnecke INTERNATIONAL“. Sie waren bereits in Neufundland, auf der Antarktis, auf den Osterinseln, auf Fuerteventura … wenn Ihr mir Fotos Eurer Schnecken schickt, die ich veröffentlichen darf, gilt weiterhin: pro Foto spende ich einen Euro an das Hospiz Arista hier im Raum.

In keeping with the name “StrickStrand” of my studio, here are the instructions for Sea snails: Turitella and Whelk. First you knit the snail, then you felt it in the washing machine. Mya other sea snail „Nautilus“was the reason for founding the studio. The following summer I collected shells and snails on the german island Amrum and made knitting samples in their colors until I had a whelk in my hands. I also came up with a cockle, but you’ll have to wait a while for the instructions for it. The snails are described in three sizes S [M, L]:

S Worsted from malabrigo

M Felt wool from different manufacturers

L   Bulky light print from Rosários4 (you need approx. 54g/18g per color, so you get a lot of snails from one ball of each color)

What else do you need? Needles! You need a circular needle size 4.5 [7, 10] and 3 loose needles of the same size, a thinner circular needle for the snail spiral, a thicker crochet hook

Techniques: Crochet stitches on (as a cast-on) Shortened rows 3-needle bind-off (since the changed instructions from 2022 ) You can also get these instructions without wool! Why? Snails knitted by you have already been allowed to travel all over the world as part of my “snail INTERNATIONAL” competition. They have already been to Newfoundland, Antarctica, Easter Island, Fuerteventura… if you send me photos of your snails that I can publish, the following applies: I will donate one euro for each photo to the Arista hospice in this room.
