Schal (& Mütze) mit viiiiielen & besonderen Tragevarianten. Achtung: Das ist nicht die Einsteiger-Variante der  Strickmuster Serie „Echo“.

Warum warne ich? Er wird in Mischtechnik gestrickt: Hebemaschen in Schattentechnik. Kennst und kannst Du bereits beide Techniken, hast Du schon nach Schemazeichnung gestrickt, magst Du Herausforderung, hast Du eigene Fantasie bei kniffligen Stellen in Diagrammen, die nicht bis ins Kleinste erläutert sind – nur zu! Etwas weniger kniffelig ist das Muster zu stricken in der Mütze (sie ist gestrickt in Runden, Du kannst sie optional zum Strickpaket dazubestellen), oder Du strickst die rechteckige Version des Schals: „Wilfrieds Echo“.

Das Muster wirkt besonders durch das „Schatten Werfen“ von linken Maschen – da der Schal in Doppelreihen gestrickt wird wechselweise mit heller und dunkler Wolle, entstehen der Schatteneffekt durch die linken Maschen beim Stricken der Rückreihen!

Zunächst wird im Rautenbereich die Blende sofort angestrickt. Du strickst zunächst die Längsseite des Schals von Spitze zu Spitze. Danach geht es in 90° gedrehter Strickrichtung weiter: Nach und nach wird die Verbreiterung gearbeitet, zunächst eine Icord, dann verkürzten Reihen. Eine super lange Icord bildet am Ende den schönen „Bilderrahmen“ und ordentlichen Abschluss. Noch ist durch die verschiedenen Strickrichtungen der Schal nicht hübsch – erst ein Entspannungsbad und das Aufspannen bringen den Zauber! Maße: 94 x (242) x 52 cm

Bestellablauf

• Schaue bei Worsted, Silky Merino, und den Flauschwollen (Links s.o.) nach Deiner Wunschfarbe (& Farbnummer).
• Bestelle hier ein Strickpaket. Normaler Bestellvorgang: bei „Variante: Wähle eine Option“ findest Du Schal, oder Schal & Mütze.
• Im Warenkorb unter „Kasse“ notiere Deinen Farbwunsch mit genauer Farbnummer im Feld „Anmerkungen zur Bestellung“.

Garn-Verbrauch bei Stricken des Ensemble mit Mütze:

Eventuell reichen auch Dir die Garn-Reste dieses Pakets !!! – die Mütze vom Foto wiegt 80 g und ist aus den Resten der Wolle gestrickt. Meine Strickprobe hatte ich Sparfuchs wieder aufgezogen und wiederverwendet. Bei mir ist das Bündchen einlagig, aber trotzdem schön warm durch das dicke Gestrick des Halbpatents. Es wurde teilweise SEHR knapp! Für ein doppellagiges Bündchen brauchst Du mehr Garn. Du kannst auch dünnere Nadeln nehmen (bei mir ist die Mütze für Kopfweite 56 – 60).

Was brauchst Du noch?

• 1 Rundnadel: Stärke 4.5, egal welche Länge
• 1 wirklich lange Rundnadel (100-120 cm) für den Rand (gleiche Nadelstärke oder 0.5 kleiner)
• 1-2 dünnere lange Hilfsnadel(n) zum Aufnehmen der Maschen aus dem Rand bzw. aus der Icord
• 1-2 Maschenmarkierer, Wollnadel
• Dringende Empfehlung : Rostfreie Spanndrähte, Spannkämme und Nadeln, sowie passende Spannmatten (oder dicke Yoga oder Iso)Matte oder ein Teppich – Merino-Wolle ist sehr elastisch und möchte sich rollen, zusätzlich gibt es verschiedene Strickrichtungen. Das  funktioniert gut mit einem guten Entspannungsbad und schönem Symmetrischen Aufspannen danach.

Anmerkung: Einige Videos sind in meinem lustigen Englisch – das recht gut zu verstehen ist, auch wenn man nicht viel Englisch kann. Ich spreche langsam. Wichtigste Vokabeln: „slip“ = Abheben, „purl“ (gesprochen „pööl“) = links stricken, „knit“ (gesprochen „nitt“) = rechts stricken

Scarf (and hat) with many unique wearing options. Please note: This is not the beginner version of the „Echo“ knitting pattern series.

Why the warning?

It’s knitted using a mixed technique: slipped stitches combined with shadow work. If you already know and can work with both techniques, you are familiar with knitting from charts, enjoy a challenge, and have a knack for solving tricky parts of charts which are not explained down to the smallest detail—go for it! The pattern is slightly less tricky to knit in the hat (knitted in rounds, you can optionally order it as an add-on to the knitting kit), or you can knit the rectangular version of the scarf: „Wilfried’s Echo“.

The pattern’s effect is particularly striking due to the „shadowing“ of purl stitches. Since the scarf is knitted in double rows alternating between light and dark yarn, the shadow effect is created by the purl stitches when knitting the wrong-side rows!

First, the border is knitted directly onto the diamond-shaped section. You begin by knitting the long side of the scarf from point to point. Then, you continue in a 90° reversed knitting direction: gradually, the widening is worked, first with an i-cord, then with short rows. A very long i-cord at the end forms the beautiful „picture frame“ and neat finish. Due to the different knitting directions, the scarf isn’t quite pretty yet – only a relaxing bath and blocking will bring out its magic! Measurements: 94 x (242) x 52 cm.

Yarn requirements for knitting the ensemble with hat:

You might even have enough yarn left over from this kit!!! – the hat in the photo weighs 80g and is knitted from the leftover yarn. Being the thrifty person I am, I unraveled and reused my swatch. My ribbing is single-layered, but still nice and warm thanks to the thick half-patent pattern. It was a close call at times! For a double-layered ribbing, you’ll need more yarn. You can also use thinner needles (my hat fits head sizes 56-60cm). You can find the hat pattern here.

Yarn consumption for knitting the ensemble with hat: The leftover yarn from this kit might be enough—the hat in the photo weighs 80g and is knitted from the leftover yarn. I sometimes ran out very close! You may need more yarn for a double-layered ribbing. You can find the pattern here.

What else do you need?

• 1 circular needle: size 4.5 mm, any length
• 1 very long circular needle (100-120 cm) for the edging (same needle size or 0.5 mm smaller)
• 1-2 thin, long cable needles for picking up stitches from the edging or the i-cord
• 1-2 stitch markers, woolneedle
• Highly recommended: Stainless steel blocking wires, blocking combs, and needles, as well as a suitable (thick yoga or exercise) mat or a rug – merino wool is very elastic and tends to curl, and there are also different knitting directions. This works well with a good relaxing bath and then blocking the yarn symmetrically.
